HTC Class action to fix the slow display?

It would be great for them to do it - but I cannot see the justification in a class action suit. The device functions fine (for everything I've used it for - camera, videos, TomTom, internet, mail, application development), it doesn't crash, or have any of the issues I used to have with my old Wizard.

As I said, the so-called class action is naive. Frankly, I can't see any American judge certifying such a class, let alone any attorney (other than MAYBE Milberg Weiss, MAYBE) taking the case on contingency. What they've raised so far is simply not even a drop in the bucket.

But that's really not the point, is it? Your brand new, top-of-the-line, PC graphics card will likely function fine, for everything you use it for, WMP, videos, YouTube, internet, mail, application development; it won't crash, or have any of the issues you used to have with your old graphics card. However, you expect, by it's very nature as a top-of-the-line graphics card, that it will use drivers to blow the performace of your old card away. You didn't buy the top-of-the-line because you thought it would be just slightly better than what you had 3 years ago.

So, once again, can you see beyond the stupidity of an actual class action suit and realize that any pressure you can bring to bear (an email, a phone call, a digg reference, a PM to Paul to make this news, et cetera) on HTC can only serve to move the cause along and possibly help make the phone you have much better than "function[ing] fine" better than some old phone you have?

Ferchrissakes people. Help the cause, don't denigrate it because yer phone works OK for you. Pressure HTC to provide what they were very clearly selling.

So, to reiterate:

Basically there's a proposed class action against HTC in their failure to provide the necessary drivers to fully exploit the LCD driver on the TyTN II. You can read the article here:

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/01/17/htc_chipset_anger/

and the class action site is here:

http://www.htcclassaction.org/

If you have the time, inclination, or access, anyone that can add some resources to pressure HTC would be greatly appreciated.

So again, please take the time to pressure HTC: digg these websites, submit them as news to Slashdot, ask Paul to post this on the news page, call HTC and complain about your phone and ask your friends with similar phones to do the same. Anything you can do to help focus this on HTC can only help make a much better Kaiser!!

Thanks in advance, all of you...
