Query on Orange Today Screen

Hi all,

Just a quick query regarding the Orange Today screen. I've recently set my Owner Information for the purposes of installing some apps. Annoyingly now, my name is displayed on the home screen. I know it's only a small annoyance, but is there any way of turning this off.

Yes! Off the top of my head, Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items -> Owner Information (remove the check box)

Thanks for the reply. The only item I have ticked on the Items tab is 'Orange', so it seems to be part of the Orange plug in.

On the today screen, I have the Orange side bar on the left, and then on the right there is the time, 'Orange', date and then my name. Is the Orange 'item' customisable at all on this phone? I've seen topics on other phones that mention editing an XML file, but I can't seem to find anything relevant on the phone.

Incidentally, if I do tick any of the other items, they show up briefly, but are then removed by the Orange home screen - going back to the items tab then shows only Orange ticked.

I've gotten so used to using the Orange home screen that I think I'd be lost if I used something else :)

When you say remove do you mean uninstall or do you mean turn off within the Today screen settings?

I am having problems with my phone, think it's related to the Orange Homescreen, and would love to completely get rid of it (uninstall it) and not just hide it.

Can it be done?

One of the great things about this phone is it is so highly customisable. You could start by replacing Orange Today with the original Kaiser HTC Home plugin. You will need the HTC Dialer cab to go with it and a black theme to blend the top and bottom bars with the HTC screens. You will find all the latest cabs and all the free software you could ever want here.
