imate text input program?

Ive got an I-mate Jam. I remember around the time that i got it i posted a message somewhere in this forum asking about rough costs to pay for it (was buying from a friend). One thing i didnt like, and still dont, is the text input. The phone pad is ok but is a pain in the preverbial to use and at least once during every message i hit the symbol button instead of space.

Im sure i read about another piece of software that can replace this test input with something much more useable, but i cannot find the thread. So does anyone know of any good ones (given that the screen is approx 6" x 3" (i think thats the right symbol, i mean inches, not feet, sadly!)) that are compatible with the Jam?!?
