Guest Foxhunter123 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Hmm all of a sudden my Tytn 2 which I had in my pocket started to vibrate and told me it had made/found a new network and I had to enter a code...? It was not a new Wifi-network but like a new to the GSM network. (I only got a quick view) as I had to make an important phonecall... Anyone got an idea to what it could have been?
Guest pdtp Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 i know here in the states that there has been a lot of talk of opening netowrks, if i had to guess i would say someone opened a tower enough for other devices to find it but not quite enough to use it.
Guest Foxhunter123 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Hmm I know I've read someone in here had a similar episode but I just cannot find it...
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Strange, not sure what that could have been! P
Guest Neil5459 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Some operators are testing home GSM network extenders at present (something like a very small local cell which connects to the operator via your home broadband.) I wonder if you inadvertantly came within range of one of those
Guest scottt Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 In phone settings If you have network settings set to manual when you lose range of your normal gsm network it will display a list of the other gsm networks it can find,
Guest Foxhunter123 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 Well it has not happened since but I believe as I said before there was this other guy asking for (could it be HTC security code??? ) and as I recall it his description was kind of like mine...
