Simple query.

My contract runs out tomorrow, I've had a hermes for 18 months which i'vee been delighted with -

The kaiser looks nice but with concerns over video etc, I'm wondering what else I could have!?

Any comments would be grateful, otherwise on Saturday I'll probably go for the Kaiser!

I have the Kaiser, and its a great phone. It's one of those devices that does lots of things very well. Id describe it like the swiss army knife of pda phones. It has absolutely everything you would want or need ... but there are some things it does better than others.

For example if you want a big knife, you wouldnt use a penknife. Likewise if you wanted to watch DVDs all day, you wouldnt watch them on a hand held device. That said, I could happily use the Kaiser on a train to watch a TV episode and surf the web, do emails etc.

The touch plus comes to T-Mobile this month. Personally I love the look of the Touch Cruise ... but going to be a while off.

If you didnt want a subsidised phone, maybe look at e-ten ... their latest Glofiish range are brilliant with VGA screens too. (although dont know what video is like on those either). Also VGA will flatten you battery quicker than QVGA.

Pretty much the same situation but I have been able to upgrade for a little while now. Nothing grabs me I have to say. The Kaiser does nothing more than my Hermes, other than GPS, so that really doesn't do it for me. I have two phones to upgrade so might get a Touch Dual and perhaps a Nokia N82 (for the GPS). The touted Samsung i900 (probably have the model number wrong) sounds like the ideal thing, but when???

Same boat as all of you. I get all stoked up about Touch Dual, and then I read all the issues it is having. Then I get pumped over the Vario III, then I read about the graphics driver issue. At this rate, I'm never going to upgrade!

Life was so simple when I had my Motorola Flare

Instead of looking for a subsidised handset you can ask T-Mobile for a loyalty discount if you renew your existing plan.

They don't publicise it too well - last June I could have had £10/month discount off my existing plan (which already had 'half price line rental'!) but I didn't find out until December, when the discount had reduced to £5/month. Because my old plan is on the original WnW, limited to 40MB a month, I used the discount to add WnW Plus. So I now get 3GB a month + free WiFi and the 1/2 price line rental for the same price I was already paying.

(I did complain about not being told I could extend my existing plan, and they agreed to pay my line rental for January. Not brilliant but something.)

Issues with the Dual?

What's wrong with it? I hadn't really heard anything negative about it
