Problem with Ringtones speeding up

I have a shadow and have not "hacked" it in anyway or overclocked it, but for some reason every few days the custom ringtones (MP3s) get sped up and play like they were on a different speed (like in the old days when a 33RPM record was played at 45RPM speed). Even turning the device off doesn't help. I have to take out the battery for a few seconds to make sure things get back to normal.

Anyone seen this??? Any solutions out there???
