Question about display/start menu - is this normal?

I just noticed this..and it could just be the way the phone operates..but answer me this, as I want to make sure this is normal behavior.

When you scroll through the start menu..and it pages down..is it a nice smooth scroll, or is it a quick repaint and the next page/row is shown..its kinda hard to explain..but mine doesnt scroll without "flashing" a bit when it hits the next page/row of icons...its almost like the screen is refreshing and I see a quick flash of white.

It's normal. You shouldn't see a quick flash of white though.. you still see the background, it just takes a slight second for the icons to appear.

I don't remember the quick flash on my copper, but new sage has it.
