Guest su6oxone Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Has anyone used Copilot Live 6 for the BJII? I had been using it for my i607 and it worked pretty well with my bluetooth GPS receiver, but I'm wondering if on the i617 it will need to use a COM port for GPS or if it can use the intermediate driver. Thx!
Guest Sed8ed Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Would be nice to know. The copilot I saw only worked for touchscreen..... Be nice if someone has this up and running. Garmin has a delay while updating the map for me. I thought it was BAUD rate but has made little difference when changing it. Be nice to find an app that updated nicely with no delay on the BJII. I find it to be like my N70 with Tom Tom...half second delay while moving in the car. My AT&T 8525 scrolls beautifully...might have something to do with processing power....Maybe an overclock will fix it. I would like to hear from "thelostsoul" on this subject..does your's have a delay while using 3dimensional fix???
Guest thelostsoul Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 There is a little bit of a delay on mine too. I don't believe modifying any settings on the phone or in Garmin will fix it. I have a friend who has Route66 on his phone, but I don't know if it has the same problem. I'll see if I can get him to let me try it... Overclocking won't likely help much. I find it's a waste to overclock. It's already 260mhz. Overclocking will bring you only to maybe just over 300...not really that much of a different at the expense of battery life and stability. The other possibility I'm looking at is AmazeGPS. It doesn't use locally stored maps like Garmin, but is free. Unfortunately, it's not yet available for Windows Mobiles. I'll report back if I ever get to try R66 though.
