I just got a Wii, and was curious what is the best game in everyone's opinion?

I love...

Lego Star Wars,

"Excite" monster truck racing (the other one is pants)

Wii Sports (Tennis and bowling mostly)

Don't much care for:

Mario olympics, or whatever they call it (a bit like Track and Field, but not enough. Way too much blurb before you play the game)

I've heard that "Carnival" (i think) is good - like Wii Sports at the Funfair (not sure what you call a funfair - its an open air travelling amusement park)

I agree with Chucky - Lego Star Wars is good.

I must admit I do like Sonic & Mario olympics though - Especially if you have a few mate round ;-)

Lego Star Wars,

Thinking of getting this one, is it worth it ?

Wii Sports (Tennis and bowling mostly)

Yep with you on that one, although I'd add shooting to the list.

Mario olympics, or whatever they call it (a bit like Track and Field, but not enough. Way too much blurb before you play the game)

I'm tempted by that one, not so sure now.

Heatseeker - too slow

Endless Ocean - damn soundtrack get's right on my nerves, only two tracks by Clannad I think :)

Big Brain Academy -prefer the DS version

Sponge Bob Squarepants - good collection of levels on regular platform game, entertaining.

Must say at this point all the games are my kids choices :D

I want Lego Starwars,

But Paper Mario and Mario Galaxy are good (completed paper mario now playing galaxy)

Red Steel is ok but bought it secondhand.

I didn't like excite truck too much. Mario v Sonic at the Olympics is real fun when playing with others - it is a bit slow to load each game. Big Brain academy is sh1te. I love wii sports - especially as I can ace every tennis serve which really annoys the missus :)

Probably play Wii Sports most myself

Big brain academy is very addictive

Zelda is awesome for a bit of monster-slashing :)

Gotta add a vote for lego starwars! Wii sports has kept me going since I got a Wii last christmas unitl I bought lego starwars this chrimbo. Don't really play games that much ( apart from the GTA series on PSP - never been ejected since it launched - and GTA will be what makes me buy a Ps3) and didn't see any other games on the wii that looked anywhere close to being as good as wii sports!

Yeah, I know what you mean about never taking some games out. My XBox only ever played Burnout!

Bear in mind that there is supposed to be a new Star Wars game where you actually control the lightsabre with the Wiimote. That's not the case in Lego Star Wars. Oh, and the lightsabre add-ons for the Wiimotes as cool as they are are just too heavy for small kids (my eldest is 5 and he can't use it for long).

My collection:

Wii Sports - cool

Wii Play - simple fun, worth it for the second controller

Monkey Ball - cool

Links Crossbow - kinda fun

Mario Galaxy - AWESOME

Cooking mama - cool

Brain training - I like it

Warioware - yet more minigames

Rayman - not played it yet

I try and keep my Wii purchases to 'social gaming' (apart from Galaxy) as I have a 360 for 'serious gaming' :)

The Lego StarWars I saw in Game said you use the wii remote as the light saber?

Just realised I didn't answer the question.

Best social game: Wii Sports

Best unsociable game: Mario Galaxy

(in my collection)

You do use the remotes, but you use B to swing the lightsabre, A to jump, 1 and 2 to switch characters etc.

When you swing the remote it doesn't swing the lightsabre. :)

If you swing the Wii Remote it does operate the light saber in normal circumstances, however the saber attachment covers up the light sensor on the Wii remote which prevents it from working in this game. There are games though that rely on the gyro inside the Wii remote and not the light sensor which is where the light saber attachment comes in to it's own :D

Bit naff then, you buy the light sabre only to realise the one game you want to play with it si not designed for it. :/

Hey everyone!

I appreciate all your inputs!

As of now my little brother just purchased Guitar Hero III - with the wireless Guitar.

and I am trying my luck at that haha. Trying to get through "Medium". Just beat "Easy".

Well peace!

Mario galaxy is god but the option of having a second player to help you collect stars and jump higher etc does not work that well unless you have the space.

Just bought link crossbow trainer as it's cheap at £19.99 in Argos, going to try out the multiplayer later tonight after work so that may be fun.
