Guest benzo Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 T-mob are saying I have to upgrade to WnW plus to get HSPDA. Is that the case with the rest of you? Have any of you recently activated HSPDA and not had to upgrade your mobile web plan? I am on old WnW (the £7.50/month for unlimited- within reason), but I am sure that I have read here that a bunch of you have managed to upgrade with the old WnW price plan.
Guest madferret Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 'Unlimited' WnW isn't the old version, it's the standard version. I'm on the original WnW, which has a 40MB/month limit! Did you sign up for WnW before October 2007? I emailed T-Mobile (via the My T-Mobile web site) in November about HSDPA and got this reply- Thanks for your email regarding your internet running really slow. I can understand this must be very frustrating for you which is why I'm grateful you've given me the opportunity to look into this for you. I'm please to say I've added on the HSDPA link onto the account to make the account faster for you. Normally now all our new price plans have the feature added on anyway but as your account was opened in 2005 then we need to manually add it on. I hope this helps. Thanks again for taking the time to email me today, I hope I've explained things clearly for you. My wife, who has been on the WnW standard 'unlimited' plan since May '06, made the same request and got the same result. I find I get a better reponse through email - I called CS a couple of times before this and the people I spoke to had no idea what HSDPA was, let alone whether I was eligible for it.
Guest penguin Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 what did you guys use to test your speeds? & what should they becoming in at for HSDPA?
Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed You might need to chose the 1Meg file if it goes too quick. HSDPA currently is about 1.8Mbps and people report getting about 1.4Mbps. (Depends on operator though)

I renewed my WnW contract a couple of months ago. When I enquired about lack of HSPDA they told me you need WnW plus. I pointed out the website only mentioned "broadband speeds" not "broadband speeds on WnW plus and above" Dropped the hint my next call would be ASA and after conferring with a supporvisor I got upgraded to plus FOC Gordon
Guest Monolithix Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 I just took out a flext WnW contract, it was supposed to be WnW+, however they messed up in the shop (and here i was thinking tmob we infallible? :)) and put me on standard WnW. Before they sorted it out, no HSDPA, afterwards it kicked in straight away :D
