Google Earth (My Location) not working

Anyone know why the "My Location" function on Google Earth wouldn't be working on my T-Mobile Shadow? No matter where I am, It always says" Your current location is temporarily unavailable". Is this function not compatible with this phone or is there another program that can do the same function? Thanks
