setting custom text messages

I was just curious to know how to set custom text message tone on the shadow, and also is their a way to set custom text message tones to an inididual with this phone..

Welcome :)

Click start - goto settings, sounds and notifications, click on Notifications tab

Then on the drop down box select Messaging: New text message, then select the tone you want

Make sure the sound file you want is in the My Documents folder then it should be listed

but is thier a way to set certain tones for people when they send me a text message like you can do for when they call?

i'm not sure if you're still wondering about this but i was looking on smartphone-freeware earlier this morning. search for text tone and quite a number of programs pop up that are able to set select tones for select people for texts... hope this helps
