I was meant to post this yesterday but was busy all day so couldn't. It actually looks really good, especially the fact that it supports flash. I signed up for the private beta with my e-mail addy and some random 'smith john's' mobile number, so hopefully they will send the cab and code via e-mail

Guest Webreaper Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 To be honest, the real news is http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/10/10/firef...-to-your-phone/
Guest hotphil Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Well as a non-US resident their site suggests I may have to wait longer for a release. But I signed up anyway, I'll give it a whirl.
Guest Kaiser Wilhelm II Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Well as a non-US resident their site suggests I may have to wait longer for a release. But I signed up anyway, I'll give it a whirl. Looks good but other than the multimedia support I'm not convinced it offers a lot more than Opera Mini. I like the proxy/client idea but what we need is a really good browser on the phone itself. If the backend server goes down then your browser is useless and there are some web pages that don't work very well with that way of doing things. Plus who can say if the company will always provide the service .. once the server goes your browser is completely useless. I'm not impressed with either Opera Mobile or Pocket IE and with the specs of new phones I'm sure we could see something a lot better at rendering pages directly on the phone.
