Is it ok to leave my SPV plugged into my laptop via the USB cradle and the charger? Or am I frying my battery? Its so handy having it perm. plugged in while I'm working on the laptop - but if its harming it, please advise.

I've modded the cradle to charge from the pclaptop and I normally

have the phone in the cradle .

As long as you don't keep pulling the phone in and out of the cradle you should be ok.

Why would pulling the phone in & out be a problem (I can only think of the fact that you may damage the connection if you do it too fast/clumsly)

Sorry I should have explained,

If you have the phone plugged in and fully charged the charging will slow down to a trickle charge.

If you remove it from the cradle and re-incert it you are forcing the battery to attempt to charge again.

something you should not do is try and charge a charged battery, they don't like it

and you could damage the battery.

I've never heard of LiIon batteries being damaged this way, because the LiIon batteries have no memory, so it can be popped on and off charge when ever you feel like it

one thing to bear in mind though is that the battery will only last a certain number of charge/discharge cycles (whether the unit is charged overnight and discharged over the following day, or charged for 10 minutes and discharged for 10 minutes, this counts as one cycle). The LiIon battery will only handle 350 cycles which is presumally why Orange say it lasts for a year, but theres no reason why you can't burn it in a few days...

charge sparingly !!!!
