Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Back in October last year, I posted an article about how Google had finally enabled IMAP for GMail users. The good news was tinged with despair however, as users reported messages coming through to the client completely blank. Not useful! Well, if you tried it and gave up... it's time to give it another go, because they've solved the 'blank message' bug! The bug has disappeared from their online database, and they have now also posted a guide to setting up your GMail account on Windows Mobile 6, which you can find here. I've been using it all week with no blank messages whatsoever, so it's all looking good :D P PS Pssssst... are you a Mac + GMail user? Check this out :)

I can now get full emails with graphics and links. Oh, and well done Google for sorting it out so quickly. :)

Oh, and well done Google for sorting it out so quickly. :) I set up the imap at the same time as getting my kaiser and did receive blank emails. i thought it was down to the kaiser not formatting the mail properly, and when I did get the blank mail i just popped onto the mobile web version to pick up the text. no great loss, just a minor inconvenience, but the joy of imap far outweighed that. Now all my emails come through, it is pretty much my holy grail found.

Guest BillB Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 I was beginning to engoy the IMAP access, and then problems struck. It was working well for me until 2 days ago, when it stopped synching the newest incoming mail to my win Mob 6 smartphone (same problem on my Win Mob 5 PPC) . This is what happens: 1. I recieve a new mail (Mail "A") to my gmail account. 2. I do a send/recieve on my Moto Q9h to get the latest mail on my phone, but the Mail "A" does not appear to the phone. 3. I recieve another new mail (Mail "B") to my gmail account. 4. Doing another send/recieve on the Moto Q9h, now Mail "A" will appear on my phone, but Mail "B" does not appear. ...and so on, for every new mail for thepast two days.
