Guest russelharvey Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Installed the Gmail mobile application (not officially support by Google, requires Java) on BlackJack II, however the login and password won't accept key in letters, so there is no way to get in the Gmail. Is this a problem with the java JVM in Windows Mobile 6 or BlackJack II related? Is there anywhere I can find a Java JVM works better on Windows mobile 6? In the Google page, http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer....amp;ctx=sibling It include a link to IBM's java JVM however once in there it says to contact IBM rep. Gmail mobile application is available at http://www.gmail.com/app A must have mobile application.

Why don't you just set it up as an IMAP email account? http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78886 Edited February 2, 2008 by sb0611
Guest russelharvey Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Why don't you just set it up as an IMAP email account? http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78886 I did. But I don't like the mail client comes with BlackJack II, (windows mobile outlook?). Anyway, I've got used to the mobile Gmail client (not the gmail over wap in mobile browser) when I used it on blackberry. Gmail client groups the same topics together in one thread, this very simple feature that those stupid microsoft developers never get it. But too bad, seems Google want to use Java for everything they developed these days. It works fine on the old BlackJack (windows mobile 5), I figure it's a java JVM issue in BlackJack II, may need a JVM update or something.
Guest Patrick H. Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 I had to play around to get it to work. When the login or password field are highlighted, you have to press the center button on the scroll wheel 2 times to get to a screen that will accept text input. But i still get an authorization request to allow Gmail to access the network every time you change threads in Gmail. Have not seen a workaround for that.
