Change your SoftKeys for FREE with KeySwop for Pocket PC

VicSoft already make some excellent PPC Software, among which are the excellent ClearTemp and UPX4PPC. Now KeySwop is the author's latest app, and it looks like a good 'un!

Quite a number of new and well-received/anticipated Pocket PCs have been released lately and it seems that quite a number of users are new to the Windows Mobile platform or unfamiliar to the new OS. One of the most commonly asked question is perhaps how to modify one of the softkeys to create a new SMS. This triggered the though of creating a new application for modifying softkeys.

I do know that there are quite a number of freewares out there for modifying softkeys. But I want something slightly different to make the customisation process even simpler and convenient for the user. Hence, the first version of KeySwop is born.

I've added a feature in KeySwop to list some shortcuts that are usually not found in the "Programs" folder so that the user can add them to the "Programs" folder and use it for mapping the softkeys. For a start, "New SMS" is there in the list. I haven't thought of any other shortcuts to add but if you have any, do drop your suggestions here.

Updated 12-Jan-08:

More shortcuts have been added to the latest version of KeySwop.

The new shortcuts found in KeySwop v0.2.1 include:

- New Appt

- New Note

- Calendar (Agenda View)

- Calendar (Day View)

- Calendar (Week View)

- Calendar (Month View)

- Calendar (Year View)

- Inbox of Outlook E-mail

- SMS Inbox

The other feature I have to stress on about KeySwop is that it supports all screen resolutions and orientations. It is DPI-aware, which makes it good for VGA/WVGA screens. And it also supports screen rotation on-the-fly.

If you are thinking of modifying the softkeys on your today screen, do give this freeware a try. Suggestions, feedback and bug reports are welcomed.

Looks like another excellent little app, well done VicSoft :)

Hmm, sounds interesting. Where do you download it from. I've done a Google and found nothing.
