logging onto school network wifi using smartphone

Hi guys, I have an orange branded S710 and have been trying to use the wifi to log onto the school internet connection. My phone is able to locate the network and i can log on as there is no encryption on the network but whenever i try to log onto the internet via internet explorer i get an error message. I have tried to set proxy settings but i am not sure what to set the parameters connects from and connects to. I have acquired the gateway and port and have entered my school username and password. Also when i try to enroll my phone with the school server i get an error message on how the certificate cannot be acquired.

Any help on how i can resolve this issue would be appreciated.
