Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 This is pretty cool! While the practicality of a watch with a phone built in is somewhat dubious, Sony Ericsson make a rather smatch Bluetooth enabled watch that can be used to display various information from your device. The watch which is detailed on this Sony Ericsson page, has of course been designed for use with Sony Ericsson devices. Thanks to an enterprising developer however, it will now work with your Windows Mobile device, courtesy of smartWatchM! Event better, when used with WinMo the watch supports MORE features than when used with Sony Ericsson phones! :) From the site.... Sony Ericsson phone Windows Mobile Set time from phone ok ok Message not. on/off ok ok SMS notification ok ok MMS notification ok ok E-mail notification ok/some phones only ok New message type no ok Appointment notif. no partly Missed call notif. no ok Notification repeat no ok Incoming call not. ok ok Caller identification ok ok Silent ringing phone ok not yet Hang up call ok not yet Out of reach ok ok Music player control ok/some phones only not yet/only display current track&artist for now Phone battery, signal no ok Weather no ok Tasks info no ok Last call info no ok Operator, Profile no ok Stopwatch no ok RSS no ok Cell Broadcast no not yet
Get the application free from the link above, and the watch for £180 from eXpansys. What's your thoughts? Is the watch worth the money? Is the functionality useful? P [Via: theUnwired]
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 I've looked at the watches a few times, but they're big and bulky and expensive. I can't see me getting one of these until they can route the audio through the watch ala Dick Tracy
Guest nickcornaglia Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 I think this was my idea. I need to find a post to see if implied patents were infringed upon. But I always thought of it as the front screen of a StrTrk on a watch. Is that the smallest LED set ever?! Would be nicer if the watch were full screen showing callerID pics as well. Coool idea...but not 100% there yet.
Guest xorangefirex Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 That really is an incredible little device. Pretty expensive, but at least the watch looks nice.
Guest blewer Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Shows potential for the future. Bit expensive for the limited function (at the moment)
