Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 Here's a neat tool for those of you using Google Calendar or Plaxo, and looking to sync it with your device.... NuevaSync. NuevaSync (beta) allows direct, over-the-air, native synchronization of certain smart phones and PDA devices with public PIM, e-mail and calendaring services including Google Calendar. NuevaSync does not need any software installed on your device because it uses synchronization protocols that are already built in. The free Beta service seems to work very well, and support for IMAP and 'Remember The Milk' is planned for the future. P
Guest WILBUR Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 nice. easy setup and worked really well, quick and simple setup. - no support for multiple calendars though.... I can't help feel a bit dubious about giving random new applications my google login and password though.... too late now :)
Guest e-v@n Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 It is really great! Finally I can sync also Google Calendar. I like that it acts as exchange server. However, I don't feel to secure giving someone my login to anyone :) Althought it is worth it :D
Guest rameses Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 I've tried this on my Hermes and I can't get it to work. I'm getting an error on Active sync saying that it encountered a problem on the server. I have noticed that on the NuevaSync instructions it advises to enter some text into the domain field on the Active Sync server set up page, but this field's greyed out. Any ideas anyone?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 On WM6 the domain field is greyed if there's an @ in your username IIRC. P
Guest rameses Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 On WM6 the domain field is greyed if there's an @ in your username IIRC. P Hmm, so if my Nuevasync user name is an email address, which it is, it's not going to work then?
Guest rameses Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 This is wierd. I've just had another go with this and entered my details exactly as before and it now works :)
Guest dboreham Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Hmm, so if my Nuevasync user name is an email address, which it is, it's not going to work then? Sorry about this, I forgot to push the ammended device configuration instructions to the live site after I changed them for WM6. They should say : "For 'Domain' enter any string (e.g. 'junk'). This field must have a value for configuration to proceed but we don't use it. If this field is greyed out then you have a newer device and you can proceed without entering a value." When I get a spare moment I'll get the correct instructions posted on the site...
