Orange and T-Mobile have announced a joint pilot project of a multi-channel TV service for mobile phone users in west London in the second half of 2008.

During the trial, customers will use handsets with a technology called TDtv to receive up to 24 high-resolution TV channels and 10 digital radio stations.

The line-up is expected to include many of the most popular channels in the UK.

The companies say TDtv, first trialled in Bristol in 2006, is a more efficient way to deliver TV broadcasts by phone.

What are your thoughts about this announcement?

Will TDTv take off or flop?

Will YOU use it?

I wont use it - but then I'm not with orange :)

Like they say, might be useful for the olympics but The Virgin Lobster flopped so not sure about demand. But then again Three do TV so you never know. I guess it depends on what's available, marketing and price.

I was going to mention about the Lobster too.

I think it flopped because it was a bit too costly. Then they dropped the price and it went kaphat!

I agree its always the them up there that get everything.

But lets see how much it will be etc first. I thinkthey should just but dvb-t in the handsets and be done with it(but of course they can not make money from that can they:< )
