Guest badbob001 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 (edited) I know this topic has been brought up before, but perhaps this may be new information. The shadow will sometimes have the backlight go to dim but stay on forever. I have upgraded to the new shadow rom and I still see this problem. One new thing that I noticed is when I go to Power management, Backlight time out on battery: 10 seconds Display time out on battery: 10 seconds That was strange because I had previously explicitly set it to: Backlight time out on battery: 30 seconds Display time out on battery: 1 minute Something is changing the battery and display settings to their lowest and I think it happens at reboot (sometimes). This has happened a few times already. I suspect that if backlight and display are set for the same timeout time, then the never-off display issue can happen. I've only installed a bare minimum of applications and I can't think of any that would do this. I do notice a new startup link called PKG, with the shortcut going to: 50#"\Windows\PKG.exe" No idea what it does. I may have to install mortscript and put a startup script to set my power settings correctly in the registry. Edited February 12, 2008 by badbob001

I had this issue with the old ROM as well but somehow it fixed itself. If anyone can figure out what is causing this and how to get the power settings to stay, it would be great!
Guest aron7awol Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 I've had this happen a couple times as well. It really drains your battery if it sits in your pocket for a while like this. I was wondering what that PKG.exe program is doing as well. I'm thinking I will check my running processes, remove it, and check again.
