Guest ShingCTse Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 Hi. I am looking to get one of the previously mentioned phones. I know that the 8525 is an overall better phone, but I am inclined to believe that it will be on the fragile side as opposed to the S710. I also would like to embrace the traditional candybar style phone as opposed to an enormous block. I noticed that the S710 has a mere 210 MHZ processor versus the whomping 400 MHZ that constitutes the 8525. What I was wondering was if the S710's processor is significantly inferior to that of the 8525. I will not run a boat load of programs, but I will use my fair share. I might also include that I am a heavy, heavy texter, and I intend on taking full advantage of the Wi-Fi capabilities of each device. I am obviously more inclined to the S710 at the moment, but if the processor is not up to par, then I will make due with the enormous size of the 8525. At this point in time, the 8525 appears to be the cheaper route also, but not by much. Based on what I have said, do you think the S710 will suffice or should I purchase the 8525? Thanks for your help guys. I really appreciate it. Sincerely, Shing
Guest ShingCTse Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 I wanted to garner some feedback from both S710 lovers and 8525 lovers.
Guest hawaii Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 S710 looks like and feels like a regular traditional candybar. But it hides a full QWERTY. If you want a brick to hold to your head while chatting it up, get the 8525 or any other PPC Mobile. If you want a regular phone with the almost the same capabilities, get an S710/S730 style form factor.
Guest ShingCTse Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 Does the speed of the S710 hold up to its capabilities though? I will most likely run Windows Media Player on it, so that will drain the RAM significantly. I guess it merely comes down to whether or not the phone will be fast enough for what it can actually do.
Guest prajith Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 so far i am satisfied with my S710. and I am a very heavy texter and i use my S710 as my music player with a bluetooth stereo headset as far is speed is concerned, u can overclock a bit. no problems so far :)
