I installed google maps and the downloaded the gps cab from here. (It's working great) While running google maps and using the gps am I using data? If i am how much am I using? Lets say I run it for 2 hours. I currently don't have a data plan. Sorry for the dumb question but im a little confused on how its working. Thanks and great site. jaamin

There are a few GPRS logging program out there, have a look on handango.com P.s. Welcome to the site!
Guest Confucious Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 You don't say which country / operator you are with. Data without a plan can be VERY expensive. Google maps is great with unlimited data but still not as good as a dedicated GPS program such as CoPilot.

I pay £12.50 (less 25% discount) for up to 3Gb of data - I guess you'll be paying somewhat more than that! If you have a data plan the cost is $5/Mb outside of your allowance. It's ussually a lot mopre if you don't have a data plan.
