Activesync 4.5 & E650 problems

I have an SPV E650 & C550 running with Outlook 2007 & Activesync 4.5 on XP SP2. (E650 used in UK & C550 unlocked & used in France.)

Last week I noticed that all my contacts & calendar entries were NOT syncing to the E650. They sync ok with the C550 still though.

I have tried **EVERYTHING** on the E650 in order of simplicity:

1. Deleted partnership for E650.

2. Removed & re-installed ActiveSync.

3. Hard reset of E650 back to factory settings.

4. Deleted loads of old Calendar entries & emails to reduce OST to 750mb from 1.4gb

5. Trashed Outlook Exchange profile, including the offline store OUTLOOK.OST just in case.

6. Got phone swapped out by Orange for new E650 v5.2 (build 1236)

New phone seems to be newer OS than my previous E650 & more options came up in ActiveSync so I was hopeful of a fix....

However, still the same problem. The E650 will ONLY sync correctly if device is synced to 'MS Exchange' rather than to 'Windows PC' - but this is even slower than normal & no good for me when I'm travelling & I want to sync with my PC; which is a lot.

The C550 still syncs fine & much quicker.

Almost seems like the E650 or Activesync has been 'upgraded' by a MS security patch to not sync everything to my device. Only pattern I could see in the non-synced Contacts were that they contained data in the Notes section. For Calendar items that failed to sync I could not see any logic....

I've seen quite a few posts about similar issues on various forums regarding WM6 but no solutions. Any ideas as it's driving me bloody crazy?!
