Guest Exodia Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 When replying to an sms in WinMo, it adds a + to the beginning of the number. Some services i send sms through dont seem to work with that prefix. Is there a setting or registry hack that will just insert the phone number into the 'To' field without the + prefix when i hit reply? Thanks
Guest Confucious Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Not sure what you're doing - the + is for international numbers and I've never had it added when replying to an SMS!
Guest Exodia Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 I never had this problem with other PPC devices ive had, only with my Touch. I know the + is for international numbers, but whats odd is that its the international services that i cant send sms to when the + is there. (like ATT or Sprint in the states... im in Bermuda)
Guest Confucious Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Are they 'proper' numbers? or short SMS codes that are only available from the USA?
Guest Exodia Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Proper numbers. The persons numbers are in my phone, when i hit reply to their messages, i get in my "To" field... "Persons Name" <+15554443333> This happens with all numbers, not just the international ones. Thanks
Guest Confucious Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Do the numbers work if you dial them? In the UK all numbers begin with a 0 - is this the case in Bermuda? Could it be something like the fact that there is no leading zero so it thinks it's an international number?
Guest Exodia Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 The numbers do work if i dial them with a + Numbers here start with a 1, which can be omitted when dialing locally. Same as the US. Its only the text messages that wont go, and only on certain US carriers. The + makes no difference on T-Mo US for instance. This minor problem/nuisance and i thought there would be a quick fix for it. :)
