Guest jontelfer Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 I've got a Vario III with T-mobile and I'm finding it takes ages to download MMS pictures. For example this morning I got the message to say that I'd got an MMS and it was going to begin download. All goes quiet until 2.5hours later when the notification+message finally arrives. Have I missed a setting somewhere? This is from my wife's basic nokia so we're not talking multi-megapixel images. Anyone else get this? Jon

Jon Hello seems you download the mms via GSM and not GPRS/3G connection. you should check with your operator the GPRS/3G settings, or the network is veryyy bad... Edited February 21, 2008 by scudo
Guest lozzd Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 I received an MMS in about 2 seconds earlier today, and thats on the default settings on my Vario III.
Guest jontelfer Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Is this the SMS service optoin in the Connections tab of settings? By default it was on GSM - does this setting also cover MMS do you think? I've set it to GPRS preferred now (from options of GPRS, GSM, GPRS preferred and GSM Preferred) so we'll see. Thanks, Jon
Guest jontelfer Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Hmm, further rummaging in the messaging app -> MMS Options gives a servers tab. I have only one entry here as T-Mobile Picture Message - which has settings of: Gateway 149.254.201.135 Port 8080 Server address http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002/ Connect via Tmobile Internet Send limit 300k WAP version 2 Which looks to make sense to me.
Guest lozzd Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 No, the SMS one applies to just sending proper SMS messages, not sure if T-Mobile even accepts SMS over GPRS. What I do know is I've changed nothing and its quick, so not sure what you can do :)
