Guest awarner (MVP) Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Welcome to the site :) Sorry about the delay but you phone is getting quite old now so it may take longer for someone who knows about the phone to reply. The backlight issue should be ok once you reboot the phone or you should be able to adjust the the backlight timeout in Settings. TomTom is known to change the back light settings and as it crashed these settings were not changed back to normal as it should do when TomTom is shut down correctly. As for the signal it could be that you are in a poor reception area? on the initial start up it can take a short while to obtain a signal. Also you may find with the age of the phone the internal backup battery is probably now faulty so when you turn the phone off and remove the battery you will probably find that the date and time are incorrect.
Guest steveoo Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Hi thx for your answer, so u suggest me to make an HARD reset to the phone right? Hope to find a place where i can find the TOMTOm (once rebooted).... The battery is perfect and new,the issue is that the sPV can't find signal where usually it used to find..... Another problem is that it does n show anymore the date and the time......THAT SO MESSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything happened since the the day Tomtom crashed............ Guest awarner (MVP) Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 I am not suggesting a hard reset but that is one option, in what way is the date and time are not being displayed? this is strange but technically this could be to do with the homescreen theme you are using but I would be surprised if this was the case. TomTom is installed on the storage card and will still work but you may need to activate it again.
