Guest beermonstermatt Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Hello! I have been away from the smartphone side of things for ages, (my last smartphone was a E200 on orange!) since then I have been all about pocket pc and currently have a Kaiser, however much as I love it is a little large and I don’t always need all its lovely functions, so I am thinking of getting a smart phone for when I don’t need the Kaiser with me. I would like some advice on the market as I am very out of touch with what’s about. My wish list is…. 1. Small: the smaller the better, had to make a call on my other half’s Nokia the other day and it made me realise just how big the Keiser is! 2. Not overly fussed about form factor but a clamshell would be nice. 3. Takes Micro SD cards, so I can use the ones in my Keiser. 4. Not fussed about Wi-Fi or GPS, don’t even mind if its not 3G as I can use the Kaiser for that. 5. Speedy. I do find the Kaiser a bit sluggish when typing messages. 6. Not massively expensive! I will be buying Sim free and just swapping sims over. Don’t know if anything exist that is near to this spec but I would be grateful for any suggestions you may have. Thanks in advance. Matt :)
Guest beermonstermatt Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Forgot to say does not need to a QWERTY keyboard. a normal key pad is fine! Thanks Matt :)

Guest Monolithix Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 The 8500 is a little dated but pretty much meets your demands! I have a beloved little S310 as a backup WinMo device, can't get them any more though unfortunately!
Guest Easty Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 My 8500 arrived from Expansys this morning and it already feels like an old friend! I moved away from an M3100 for the same reasons you detailed above.
Guest beermonstermatt Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Thanks everyone for your help, I will be ordering a 8500 this weekend :D Matt
Guest Confucious Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 You've left it a bit late - someone from China bought the lot! at that price they were a bargain - I got a pink one (cheaper and still in stock) and have flashed it to WM6 and it's a great phone. Good luck
