Guest meghann Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 hello all- newbie here. work just sent me an 02 stellar. i used to have a motorola razor and quite old hp pocket pc. the hope is that this new device will merge the two. questions: 1- the selection of alarm clock sounds is quite limited- i've downloaded some ringtones, but can't figure out how to see them in alarm clock drop down menu.... any advice? 2- what exactly is 3G? will this work in Japan? 3- with the hp pocket pc- when i'd change time zones- my appointment times would then change accordingly. Not what i wanted. so i just stopped changing the time zone at all (since i was using my phone as an alarm clock, i could just change that time zone). however, now that the two are merged this is an issue. i flew to vancouver this morning, the time changed automatically, and now my appointment times are all screwy. i realize it's only doing what it's being told, but is there some way around this? 4- i realize my tomtom 5 won't work on the 02 stellar. any advice for tomtom vs copilot live software? 5- is it possible to use GPS with something like google.maps? thanks in advance!
Guest meghann Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 well... i think i found several answers to question 3- outlook time zone issue. i've downloaded two things- one is webis toolbox & the other is citytime. i found city time quite cumbersome to use since it was a seperate menu than outlook appointments calender. however- i really like webis toolbox. it prompts you to changes your appointsment back to what you orginally set, when you change time zones. exactly what i wanted!
Guest mandt Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Ok I'll try to answer some of your other Q's 1. Alarm Tones (and SMS tones) must be in .wav format, put them in \Windows 2. 3G: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3g Don't know if Japan has it or not though 3. You've already answered it seems! 4. I use TomTom 6, you can DL it from HTC E-Club, see my post in this thread for more info: http://www.modaco.com/content/HTC-Kaiser-K...ere-is-tomtom/# 5. Google maps, and Live search (which I prefer) both work perfectly with the internal GPS HTH
