Updating eMails as Read through Push

Can anyone assist me on this:

I recently upgraded from a Hermes to Kaiser. All seems okay except my emails on the Kaiser are not updated as read after reading them in Outlook on my PC. Means I have to manually set them as read. Quite a pain.

eMail push works fine otherwise from my company Exchange 2003. Push set up to "as item arrives".

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Kev.

Thats normal behaviour - unless you are saying they are not set to "read" ever.

Seems MS have set directpush to not bother forcing another sync simply to update the read status or to delete an email deleted on device. The info is updated when the server initiates another sync due to a new email arriving - or when you send an email - or when you do a manual send/recieve/sync on device.

I guess its for battery/data saving.

I understand. Perhaps I am just not getting so many emails since changing devices.

Does that mean if I set up to do a sync every 15mins instead of "as item arrives" it would change the status then?

BTW, Thanks for your reply.

It would - but that may use more battery/data. All you need to do is one manual send/receive (ie menu, send/receive) when you are heading back to your pc - then all changes will be replicated on server and pc - or simply plug the device back in to the pc's USB cable and wait for them to catch up with each other.
