Guest memcbob Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I have no such selection. I appear to need this setting to try to get usb-serial (non-rndis) activesync to work with VPN. However, there is no such check box on my device activsync -> menu -> connections. There is only a USB selection. and when i use add on program to force serial (USBSwitch), the device shows on PC as WinCE device but no activity with activesync... Thanks, memcbob
Guest jimbouk Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 its not in activesync. On most devices, it is in start, settings, connections tab as a seperate menu item.

On most devices, it is in start, settings, connections tab as a seperate menu item. this is a BJ2, with WM6 std, NO tabs...there is no check box on the Connections/USB, only have selection for USB or modem or mass storage at that location. via other forums, the is supposed to be a checkbox in Activesync on the device to 'enable netw..." do you have BJ2? do you have wm6 std?
Guest memcbob Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 ATT has apparently crippled this part of the BJ2. I understand that it was done to prevent 'easy' use as modem or something like that... If anyone finds a way to re-enable USB-PC serial bus functionality on ATT branded BJ2 with WM6, I would appreciate it. memcbob

Unfortunately, I have had no success. I did speak with a level 2 tech rep recently at Samung who claims there is no work-around. I'm not sure if it was Samsung or ATT who disabled the feature but this is the only device out of many I have owned on which this feature is missing.
