Guest Jonathan Helms Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 I recently got a i617 and I want to start doing some hacks on the phone but I am having a real problem finding a program that will backup the phones programs. I have found several that backup ringtones, pictures, and contact list but I really don't care about them. They are easy enough to backup with a program. I tried Spb Backup but it only works with touchscreen phones. Help please.

Guest eman006 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Sprite Backup works. ....or just create a folder on your computer that has a copy of all your cab files and files of instructions of how to install each one (instructions from these forums pasted into a Word document). Just an idea for simpletons like me. :)
Guest thelostsoul Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 (edited) Something about Sprite that tends to be an issue is if you use application unlocked applications, when you're phone is cleared, if you don't re-unlock the phone, Sprite will have troubles after restoring. Not saying don't use Sprite, just remember to unlock your phone before restoring .....or just create a folder on your computer that has a copy of all your cab files and files of instructions of how to install each one (instructions from these forums pasted into a Word document). If something happens to my phone what is the easiest way to reset my software back to the orginal setting and remove all of the hacks?

To reset your phone, turn it off, press and hold the up button, then turn it on while holding the up button. Release when the on-screen instructions come up and follow them.

Guest SCMOMO Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 I am having a problem with Sprite Backup at the moment. I backed up everything I wanted to my storage card. I hard-reset the phone. I re-installed Sprite Backup to the storage card. I tried to restore, and the app is asking for a password. I didn't set a password! I have a ticket in with Sprite Software, no resolution yet. Remember, with backup software, it's not the backup, it's the restore that's important...
