Guest Sonicr360 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 hi All, Having a useful left hand for text messaging was great on my Samsung and Sony K770i phone. but with the Tytn II I am very limited to using the virtual keyboard and the fiddly pen just to respond to text messages. At work, its ok, as I use SOTI and a full sized keyboard to type away :) But when on the go, its annoying that I cannot use a virtual keyboard that mimics the same keyboard layout as most phones, ie: Your normal 1 - 9 keyboard layout, 0 at the bottom and 3 letters on each of the keys (in other words like a physical numeric keypad). Any advice, welcome as I prefer to test one handed. Simon
Guest Transform Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 i use pocketcm keyboard which allows you to press keys without the stylus as they are thumb sized. check it out at this website: http://www.pocketcm.com/keyboard2.php
Guest mandt Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 I have tried so many different SIPs since I first got a PPC, and every time I go back to HTC Phone Pad, which for those that don't know is a T9 style keypad. It's copyrighted HTC Software so I can't attach a copy for you, but spend five minutes with your Google hat on and you'll find a copy for download :)

I dont see this HTC Phone pad :D well apart from just using the phone itself.... but I want that for texting... and I do not appear to have the option? Unless I am completely stupid :D
Guest shootydogthing Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 it's not on the phone, you have to google and download it ;)
Guest Sonicr360 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Well I found one, but I dont think its right... looks like a CE version :) :D Any link????
Guest Sonicr360 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Think I may have it now.....think !!!
Guest Sonicr360 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Can I describe what I have ??? Am I doing something wrong obtaining this pad?
Guest shootydogthing Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 It's copyrighted HTC software... so we can't link it here. but yeah, describe it
Guest Sonicr360 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Ok has blue buttons. Has a T9 button. if pressed, changes colour to a lightish green colour. got ashift button and also a SYM button?
Guest mandt Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Yep that's the one :) There is also a version floating around with a Touch style skin, which looks much better. Make sure you install to main memory and not the card. While on the subject of SIPs I'd advise not to install the new Touch Dual keyboards on the Kaiser, as they screw around with the hardware keyboards functonality
Guest benzo Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Sonic you got PM Hey mandt, can I get a PM as well? Thanks.
Guest mandt Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 You could always PM me now couldn't you :D

Guest lozzd Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 Thanks so much mandt for PM.. regarding separate matters... On another note, the T9 keypad is awesome! there have been a couple of occasions when I can't be bothered to get the keyboard out, and this suites it perfectly.
Guest Sonicr360 Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 Now... all I need is this blasted MP3 tune to become a genuine MP3 tune and I am a happy guy :D
