Cant sent SMS - deleted setting with SKTools (oops!)

Help! I’ve lost the ability to send SMS messages! Interestingly, received messages are still accessible, but when I try to hit send on a composed message, nothing happens, then when I try to cancel it, I cant even store it in Drafts.

I think I know what it is though. I was playing around with SKTools the other day, trying different tweaks and I accidentally deleted the location for storing Messaging files, which was \Windows, but I cant re-enter it.

Under SKTools-Category-Standard-Tune-up-System Memory and Speed Tab-Messaging files – I have a blank under here (used to read \windows). If I click on the blank, a text box opens at the top of the window, but I cant type anything in there - it wont accept anything. There’s also a box with three dots in it next to the text box that opens a Browse window, but although all the main directories are listed there, including \Windows, they’re all greyed-out and hence cant be selected.

How can I restore this setting?

You could try deleting your SMS account from the Messaging application and setting it up again (not quite sure how you would do that though).

The other way to do it would be to run a full backup of your device to the storage card (with Sprite Backup or SPB Backup), Hard Reset the device, then do a full restore - but don't restore your messaging accounts. This should restore your device to the way it was but with a rebuilt SMS account.

Like I say, not entirely sure but you could give it a try. Either way, make sure you do a full backup before trying either of these methods.

Or if you have access to the network customisations in extended rom, just run those again.

Sorted - i think!

I downloaded and ran the Network Setup Wizard from HTC E-Club as suggested by Mandt in another thread about something else and i can now send SMS messages, though i note in SKTools, there is still a blank under Messaging files.

Oh well, it works, so i'm happy again!
