Guest GS 059 Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 I look at my phone (t-mobile dash) and wonder why when it says it has 64MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM, why does it seem to split ROM between Storage Memory and Program Memory and leave out the RAM, it does not make much sense to me. or is it still using RAM as Program Memory (but just completely leaving out the amound tha the OS is using) and doing the same thing for the ROM (just showing how much it not being used by the OS and than how much of that is free)?
Guest Monolithix Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 ROM is Storage memory, which you can write files/apps to etc. RAM is Program memory, which is used to run apps, kinda like the memory in your PC. So there's no overlap. Don't forget the ROM has WinMo and a few other bits installed as well, which is why the full 128 isn't available...
