Guest petey_d_g Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 well here my tale of woe i had a lovely spv m3100 i dropped it, it wasnt so lovely, i got the insurance replacement on sunday (seemed fine) but by monday morning it wasnt recieving or letting me call, then it lost all signal completely, even hard and soft reset didnt work i think its a problem with 3g as i turned that off and now i have signal but that is hardily an ideal soulution as it doesnt fix it, it just pussy foots around it anyone know what the problem is? oh my phone before didnt have this issue, sometimes it had trouble sending a picture message in a 3g area, i did change my rom and that made it peachy but if this hand set it knackered i would rather get a replacement than anything else thanks for any help :D
Guest Nucksta Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Was the replacement straight from orange? Whats the firmware? Is it running wm5 or 6? What have you got your band, gprs and network set on How many bars are you getting on your signal strength. I personnally if doesnt invalidate insurance update radio stack.. Worse case comtact orange as I am aware they have been doing significant updates recently

Worse case comtact orange as I am aware they have been doing significant updates recently windows mobile 5.0 (os 5.1.465 (build 15673.3.3.1) it had no signal previously now i have 3 bars when i did the hard reset and it went to factory settings it did have signal but then once the orange features instaled no signal and it was set to auto, i phoned orange up and they took along (but friendly) while to get me to stick it to manual work about 30 secs, then it went off again
Guest jimbouk Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Def sounds like the 3g radio is weak. I would try to get it swapped again and when they say try it on GSM, tell them a) you bought a 3g device for high speed data and :D your old M3100 worked fine in the same place on 3g.
