Guest Kippax Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 T-Mobile are telling me its 73p/kb to access the internet abroad on my phone ! Now that seems frighteningly expensive. Has anybody got any experience of this and what sort of costs might I rack up to access my email and use MSN while away ?
Guest Neil5459 Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 T-Mobile are telling me its 73p/kb to access the internet abroad on my phone ! Now that seems frighteningly expensive. Has anybody got any experience of this and what sort of costs might I rack up to access my email and use MSN while away ? They've got their maths wrong somewhere- 73p per kb equals £73 per MB :D It's still bad though- T Mobile charge £7.50 per MB for European roaming. 1MB is about 50 small emails; I don't know how much data MSN uses, but you need to remember that you pay for all data, both upload and download. T Mobile are the most expensive for data roaming, though they are reported to be reducing it to €2 per MB for their Eu divisions. Orange are still about £4 per MB, but O2 are just rolling out a major reduction in data roaming.
Guest jimbouk Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 All the networks will be reducing a lot over the coming months as the EU is going to stamp on then if they dont. But for now... watch out.
Guest madferret Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 If you just download email headers then you'll pay a couple of quid. MSN will be megabucks! You can check by looking at your account in My T-Mobile. From a PC you can download your data usage so you should be able to work out your normal use.
Guest Confucious Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Don't use data while abroad! At least not until T's price cut in the summer when it will be max of €15 a day - until then I use nodata.cab!
