Guest hagie92 Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Hello, I have the red Blackjack 2 and I like the "guava bubbles" home screen colour, but when you use this with the "Samsung Simple" homescreen layout, there isnt a way that I can find to change the Default grey and green colour. So I'm faced with a problem where my start menu is red, but the samsung simple task bar right above it is grey and green. How can i fix this?
Guest jonathanbaker1 Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 How can i fix this? It's fairly easy but you have to be confident with some basic editing. Alot of it is trial and error, and may take some time before you get it right. Anyways here's what to do: 1.) You have to get the file you want to edit off of your phone and onto your computer to edit. These are .XML files but you can edit them easily with Notepad. The files are located on the phone in the \Application Data\Home folder. Some of the files you can drag and drop onto your desktop with windows (like the guava.scheme.XML file,) but some are "hidden" like the Samsung files. 2.) To get these hidden files out, I used TotalComander on my phone to copy them to my storage card and change the properties so the are not hidden. 3.) Once you get the files to your Desktop, (right click) open them with Notepad. The text you have to edit will look something like this ="#FF1B0F" 4.) This combination of 6 letters and numbers is the color code, same color code used in HTML for internet pages. Open up your favorite photo editor program ( I use Photoshop) and click on the color pallette to open up the colors. If you have an option for "show only web colors" or something like that, then click it. 5.) Find the color you want in the color pallette, and you should see the 6 digit/letter code in the pallette window. 6.) Then just change the color codes in your .XML file, and save it. Then just put it back into your phone in the \Application Data\Home folder. This will take lots of trial and error till you get good at it.
Guest thelostsoul Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Or just set the home screen layout to Samsung Simple and the Color Scheme to Guava Bubbles, isn't that it?

That is an image, and to change that would involve a little more work. If I get around to it, I might try it for you and post the steps, but unless someone else does it, don't expect from me until spring break (after this week)...
Guest hagie92 Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Sure thing. Thanks...my spring break is comin up too...
