Guest devorama Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Hello, my Blackjack II started having this weird problem lately. I happened after I started activesyncing to an Exchange Server, but I don't know if that's related. The problem is that some applications are now silent. Windows Media Player and TCPMP are totally silent, no matter what sound profile and volume level they are on. But other apps are fine. If I preview audio files in the Alarms application, I can hear them fine. Also, when I get an SMS in extreme text (sms threader), I hear the notification sound just fine. Ironically, when I searched this form for "sound," I found out someone had come up with a fix for one of my previous requests to silence the camera shutter sound. But I can't exactly test it because my camera is always silent now! Does anyone have any ideas or similar experiences? Thanks...
Guest thelostsoul Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Try this: Open TCPMP, open an audio file, click options - audio - audio driver. Make sure it is set to "Wave Output" See if it plays. If still no good, start - settings - profiles. Highlight any profile you want to use, then make sure all of the volumes for each settings is up. Take special note of the last one, system volume. Make sure that is up too. Apply the settings, set your phone to that profile and see if it works.

And my sound profiles are okay. I have this same lack of sound issue in Windows Media Player too. I don't understand how these apps are using sound differently than the apps that are working. Thanks for the input though.
Guest devorama Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Oh, wait, nevermind. I figured out the problem. I had the earpiece volume (the side rocker) turned all the way down. That apparently mutes some, but not all applications. I turned it up and now I'm fine.
