Guest thelostsoul Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 Garmin works with the blackjack II's internal GPS without having to install any hacks. I can't say I know it's better than the Motorola GPS though. I believe they both have the same GPS chip, actually, but not sure on that. I can tell you that my blackjack ii seems to take between 1 and 5 minutes to acquire a signal. For some people, this is unreasonable. I don't mind it, just startup GPS before you leave...

I don't mind it, just startup GPS before you leave... Agree. Mine takes around 2-5 min on average to get a signal, which is fine by me. It's more reliable than using BT for GPS and the convenience for those who don't have GPS in their cars built-in, is awesome. I use it everyday, and along with MS Live Search, nothing I can't find directions too (the voice search is great in MLS!).
Guest escobator Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 thanks for reply guys. i though that att block the celular for use only telenav... ok, i was reading the forums and there are some sofwares..... gpsid for example... i have to install? news, just now, i buyed the terminal. i hope, a good idea hahhaaha. by oficial page att 100$ but if you buy in samsung page,i did, 50$, 50 cash back, and 2 business days ship and free. i think is very cool, for the same price, i put the cover protect for a year. and the cheapest plan 39,99. no internet. only i want get a terminal for few calls but with the gps all in one... is gorgerous, right now, in metro pcs im paying 50 for few calls and a ssssht of celular...and broken.... batery is good no? i forgot see that hahaha.
Guest su6oxone Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 No, you don't need gpsid to use garmin, live search, or google maps. Those programs should work with garmin out of the box (set to intermediate driver in gps settings). thanks for reply guys. i though that att block the celular for use only telenav... ok, i was reading the forums and there are some sofwares..... gpsid for example... i have to install?
