Guest sfleuriet Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 I've set Auto Update to OFF, and continually have to go back in and manually adjust the time back one hour. I've already manually changed it about 5 or 6 times. I've also tried leaving Auto Update to ON, with the same result. Any ideas?
Guest thelostsoul Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 Why not just set your time zone to one setting earlier?
Guest sfleuriet Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 May have to try that - good idea. For right now, it's staying.. we'll see. Thanks
Guest sfleuriet Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 Well... changing the timezone made all the text message times an hour off. I set it back to the proper time zone and manually set it AGAIN... and it jumped an hour ahead again. What's the deal??
Guest Mysterious Caveman Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 Well... changing the timezone made all the text message times an hour off. I set it back to the proper time zone and manually set it AGAIN... and it jumped an hour ahead again. What's the deal?? mines doing the same thing... i wonder if rogers wireless is sending the timezone information... my phone keeps going to "GMT -8 Tijuana, Baja California" and they don't have daylight savings. I keep changing it back to "GMT -8 Pacific US". I'm getting so annoyed. I wonder if i can modify the registries to either add DLS to "GMT -8 Tijuana, Baja California" or wipe that timezone out all together on my phone.
Guest Mysterious Caveman Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 I navigated to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Timezones\5 and changed the TZI value from: E0 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 C4 FF FF FF 00 00 0A 00 00 00 05 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 01 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 to: E0 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 C4 FF FF FF 00 00 0B 00 00 00 01 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 02 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 and changed the display from: GMT -8 Tijuana, Baja California to: GMT -8 Vancouver, Canada So basically if it switches back, it should change it's display from GMT -8 Pacific to GMT -8 Vancouver, Canada. I'll be able to see the change, BUT my timezone will be the exact same as DST on GMT -8 Pacific. I'll see what happens. In any case, this should keep my time consistent, even if my timezone is flicking back and forth. I just wanted to post my solution to the problem.
Guest sfleuriet Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Stillll wont stay... it continues to advance it one hour... anybody have a clue? I think I may need to call ATT
Guest sfleuriet Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 On the phone with AT&T now.. they say its a known problem with the phone because of the early time change this year, and there is a software update for it :D
Guest sfleuriet Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) Nope...it still wont stay... I can't believe nobody else here is having that problem. The AT&T reps are saying tons of people are having the same problem. Wowww.... good thing AT&T failed to mention THIS.... :D http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/day...ng/default.mspx Edited March 18, 2008 by sfleuriet

Guest sfleuriet Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I had this problem until i went into activesync tools>option>settings on my desktop and unchecked "synce smartphone date & time". Hasnt changed since. The M$ update didn't seem to change anything, but I think the activesync setting did. Thanks :D
Guest Nottach Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 The M$ update didn't seem to change anything, but I think the activesync setting did. Thanks :( Yay, I helped. :D
Guest pPCp Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 The issue isn't with Activesync. The problem is your pc. Check the time zone on you PC on the desktop that it conicides with the phone... ActiveSync isn't smart enough to do anything more than take the clock on the PC and set to the phone. It seems to me the time zone on your PC is off by the hour you are seeing.
Guest sfleuriet Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 That may be true. But if you tell activesync to quit grabbing the time from the Windows PC, it should no longer be a problem. Knock on wood... it has been great ever since.
Guest Nottach Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 yea, you dont need the pc to tell the device the time because the device gets the correct time from the carrier.
