Touch Hong Kong

OK, so I have bought an HTC Touch (enhanced) from Hong Kong, all unlocked/sim free etc, but when I turn it on I get a warning that my network provider (vodafone UK) is not supported (looking at the manual selection it only seems to recognise Asia, australia, singapore etc) and that I need to get an update from the vendor. It does then connect to Vodafone (so I can call/text) but so far am unable to get on line (I guess the data settings have not got through).

I am in talks with the supplier, but it seems to be taking it's time. Anyone know where I can get an update (CAB file type hopefully) that I can install to get the European networks?

Cheers in advance.

Create an account with HTC E-Club, browse the HTCP3600 downloads section, there is a Downloadable Network setup wizard that should configure all your settings for you

Will this work, even though I have a P3452?

Whoops, just gone there, and the only download showing is for TomTom Navigator. Do I have to search something other than the phone downloads section?

Here's one I prepared earlier!

HTC_UK_Operator_Settings.zip

Is this an update to the network wizard, or just an installation file that sets up the uk accounts? I downloaded one like that from elsewhere on XDA, and seems to work, except i have to reinstall if i take out battery, and sometimes I loose gprs for a short while. I think something may be in conflict, but I don't know what?

I keep asking the vendor who supplied phone, and they are even telling me that I should put the Rom back to an earlier version, but I think thay might be talking at cross purposes. I keep thinking about just updating the rom, to something like BlueElves6.1, but having never done it before, I worry about "bricking" the phone :D
