Guest Mr Alom Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 (edited) :( Hi All, Does anyone know where I can get a longer lasting battery from, without chaging the back cover and making the device look bigger then it is? I don't mind even a 10% life time more as long as it's better then the one supplied with my MDA Vario III becasue my battery dies around about 4pm every weekday (when I'm in the office at work) :D . I have to stop using it and carry another phone (as I divert my work extension to my mobile often), I have to put it on charge as soon as I get back into the car :( . PLEASE HELP!! :( Edited March 21, 2008 by Mr Alom
Guest andrewkeith5 Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 you don't seem to be having a very good experience with your kaiser mate...apparenty the aftermarket one with the same capacity will (somehow) last longer...theres a few threads on it around here, and i think it's on amazon (though i wouldn't buy it from there as its from a random seller who can't spell)
Guest KevinAlbrecht Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 i think it's on amazon (though i wouldn't buy it from there as its from a random seller who can't spell) I bought the amazon battery, and it does not last as long as the original, so I would go with them :D
Guest andrewkeith5 Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 well like i said don't buy the amazon one - paul mentioned a site one one of the threads on this forum who sell the better batteries
Guest bigdish Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 (edited) well like i said don't buy the amazon one - paul mentioned a site one one of the threads on this forum who sell the better batteries Well I have not replaced my battery but I use this - 3600 and works well when I need a charge. r Andrew :D http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t...&t_mode=des Edited March 15, 2008 by bigdish
Guest haroldw Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 The maximum capacity battery that I have been able to find, that still fits in the original case without replacing the back is 1600mAh. I got mine from www.sfplanet.com. With a true HTC tyTN II I usually get about two days, maybe a little more of light duty usage (it is on from about 06:00AM until about 10:00PM.) I you suggest you get one of them, keep both of them charged and and swap one for the other when the first dies. Also, do you spend much time at a desk, with a computer? If so, consider carrying a usb cable with you to work and keeping it charged while you are at your desk, or if you are driving a car charger may help.
Guest shootydogthing Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Because charging it constantly reduces the life of the battery.
Guest pete_thomson Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Because charging it constantly reduces the life of the battery. It thought that was the cases back in NiCad days but I thought Li-Ion batteries didn't suffer that fate?
Guest shootydogthing Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 well they certainly don't last forever, I thought it only took a certain number of "charge cycles"
Guest Mr Alom Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 you don't seem to be having a very good experience with your kaiser mate...apparenty the aftermarket one with the same capacity will (somehow) last longer...theres a few threads on it around here, and i think it's on amazon (though i wouldn't buy it from there as its from a random seller who can't spell) Actually I love my Kaiser and won't be able to live without it, it's the battery I'm not having good experience with. I use my Kaiser to run my like smoothly every day, I'd say I use it to the maximum capability e.g. Tom-Tom, sync work/personal e-mail, calendar etc. :( Sorry for the long response, just thought I need to defend my Kaiser! :D

Wow! that one looks good, it's about £14/15 in UK money.

Guest brad_the_dad Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 I bought the 3000 size battery..... the good thing was that it came with a full size back that doesn't give you that bulging look of the 2600 ones....... they designed a back that makes it look like an OEM.... ye its a bit heavier, but its not a roblem for me.... now it will last all day with use of email, 3G, internet, GPS and any thing I want to do and lasts from 7am..to beyond midnight.......hope this helps.

Mmm...I really don't want my kaiser to be bigger then it is (other wise it won't fit into any of my cases, as I've got 3 lots of cases for different occasions) but if you can attach the link to the site/company where you bought yours, that will help so I can have a look. Thanks :D
Guest Mr Alom Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 I bought this battery at the end... I've used it for 3 days now, mmmh...I woulden't say it's excellent, just about lasts until 6/7pm (I get home with with first low battery warning).
Guest thegoods12188 Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 Flash a new radio, this often resolves battery problems, it fixed mine.

Guest Fate-X- Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 Thank you, I'll give it a go soon. 1 more way that might help is.. Let your battery go full out meaning don't charge it until it completely dies. Then charge it to full...This sometimes helps because when you charge the first time it doesn't let the full capacity charge. I noticed a 7-10% difference when I did this. Hope it helps!
