Guest turnerh Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 (edited) I was digging through some old posts over at blackjackusers and came across this link (http://www.cellphoneshop.net/auvimucafors.html) for an audio/video cable for the first blackjack. I immediately was interested because this would expand the phone's usage to so much more, playing roms and watching movies, giving presentations without a pc, etc... I suspect that there must be something keeping our phones from doing this or there would already be such a product on the market. Anyways what the hell... Does anyone know if the i617 has these same capabilities? Thanks edit: after reading more, I realized that the cable actually doesn't work for the i607. So I assume these phones do not support video out through the usb. Anyways, if anybody knows I could get my phone to play on a television (seems far fetched to me now :D...) please share. Well this isn't a perfect solution but this one is wireless and works for things like PowerPoint. It is called a ShowMate. http://www.impatica.com/showmate/ Basically it uses bluetooth for wireless connection to a projector or whatever has a VGA connection if your TV is equipped with it. The other solution is wired called Pocket Controller Pro. http://www.soti.net/default.asp?Cmd=Produc...mp;SubCmd=PCPro and you have to connect this in to your PC which could in turn use its VGA output to a projector; TV etc. This really works very well is is much more versatile than ShowMate but it is wired and it needs your laptop or PC. Of course there are existing Windows Mobile phone devices with output capabilities built in that don't need the above at all. The HTC Advantage for example has VGA output but that one is large. The imate Ultimate 6150 or 8150 has XGA 1024x768 pixel output built in and these model look absolutely stunning when displaying to a projector or large screen. I saw this at World Mobile Congress 2008 being used in conjunction with Remote Desktop Mobile so that the phone actually was controlling a Windows XP PC remotely directly from the phone but with a desktop XGA experience. The imate Ultimate 8502, 9502 have built in VGA output using RCA connectors which I thought was acceptable but I preferred these latter models because of built in GPS.

There is a wireless remote control product called EveryWAN RemoteSupport that can even show a device that is only available through a low speed cellular network connection. It is part of a Mobile Device Management and Security solution : EveryWAN MobilityManager.
