Guest unknown-singh Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 Hi just wanted to know weather i could have my tytn II connected to my wireless network, and then connect it to my desktop pc via usb cable, and use the internet on my desktop pc throught the tytn II. is it possible? thanks.
Guest chucky.egg Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 Does your wireless network connect directly to the internet, or do you only have a connection via the PC? If your wireless router connects then you don't need the PC - just connect to the WiFi and surf away! If you're asking "can I use WiFi whilst connected via USB?" then I think the answer is yes - there's a setting in ActiveSync which allows connections whilst "tethered" (but I'm not sure if that just relates to GSM connections)

TYTN II > connected to wifi network > TYTN II connected to PC via USB> PC has Internet connection throught TYTN II.
Guest jimbouk Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 (edited) Yes. You can use wifimrouter if you can find it (it seems to have disappeared) or you can do some reg tweaks so that the ICS (internet connection sharing) shares the wifi instead of the 3g data connection. Do a google for ICS wifi registry tweaks. (It is a lot easier to buy a £15 wifi USB adapter for your desktop though.) Edited March 19, 2008 by jimbouk
