Backlight Turns Off if Wrong Security Code Entered

I put in a security code as the phone was frequently dialing in my pocket. When I slide it open I have to enter a code to be able to dial. If you make a mistake entering the code, the lights go out on the phone. So at night that is a pain! Who thought of that stupid idea? Any way to set the phone so that the backlight on the keys and screen all turn on and stay on a few seconds and DOES NOT shut off if a wrong security code is entered. In another move of genious by MS you can not enter a simply code like 111. I don't want security, I just don't want the #$@# phone dialing at random in my pants. Really ticked me off I could not enter a short and simple code like 111 to unlock the phone.
