Selecting a SMS contact with NO TONE...

everytime I write a NEW SMS and want to SELECT a contact out of the contact list, the PHONE WILL MAKE A NOISE> even though all mytones are on silent. --- This sucks, because makes it kind of IMPOSSIBLE to send SMS in CLASS or in MEETINGS.

is it possilbe to get ride of that?

if not please move thread to BUG list!

This is a known bug.

The other (silent) way to send an SMS type the name on the home screen and a list of contacts will come up. Highlight a contact (but don't pres action) and press left or right to choose a method of contacting them. Choose SMS and press action and it opens a new message with their number in the To: field. No noise! However to add another contact to the To or CC field makes a noise :-(

Another alternative is to plug in your headphones.

P.S. There isn't a UK update out yet. Only a Danish one. You can install that, but the UK one should be out in a couple of weeks so it's probably best waiting. Have a look in the Main forum for discussions on this.

You can just turn down the earpiece volume on the volume buttons on the side of the phone, or you can click menu first and then 'add to:' when typing in the 'To:' field.
