WM 6.1 ROM

I'm just gettting ready to flash my device, and just trying to get an understanding of the recommended/most popular ROM.

I notice TLR is rather active on here, and Dutty is very helpful on XDA.

Only difference really that I see, is that Dutty's I would need to update the radio too.

I use TLR's ROM because it's so clean. I noticed that the others on XDA had so much rubbish installed that I either wouldn't use or I had my prefered alternatives to. With TLR's it comes with nothing like that so you can fully customize it yourself.

That was my thinking, give TLR a whirl, and add on all the apps which I already own, as required.

Make sure your device is unlocked either way - as both require a 6.1 radio (TLR's includes one)

As in HardSPL, or sim unlocked?

Both. A simlocked device will not work with a new radio unless you run one of the unlocker tools first.

Aaaah thanks for that one. I'd been reading TLR's post where it said:

1. Run hardspl

2. activesync

3. run his exe to flash the rom

Guess it will be a few more steps than this to also sim unlock the device. I guess there are several sim unlockers too, are there any which are recommended over others?

I didn't SIM unlock mine (T-Mo V3) before flashing TLR, just HardSPL.

Is the radio bit specific to Orange? I'm remembering the guys in the early days who flashed the HTC ROM and ended up with a locked device

Yes - Orange devices are all sim locked.

I dont think T or V are locking theres these days.

(jockyw2001's simunlocker over at xda worked fine for my device)

Remove one vote from "others", it wouldn't let me see the results without me voting...

I will be flashing either tomorrow or on monday, and using TLR's ROM.
