Is it possible to have my Hotmail email account hocked up on my SPV?

I mean HOtmail is part of MS. thus i guess would be possible. I tried to hock it up, but it doesnt work I always get a errr message saying that UNABLE TO CONNECT TO INCOMING MAIL SERVER. VERIFY THAT THE SERVERNAME IS CORRECT AND THEN TRY AGAIN.

can someone help me out please.

Thanks!

Well I did know about the HTML/WAP link to HOTMAIL.

I just wanted to know if you could have it as you MAIN ORANGE SPV email adress, which would allow you to use all of these EMAIL ADDRESSES which are stored in your contact list and write emails write trough that, as easy as you write am SMS or MMS.

I mean for what else are you using the email option on your SPV anyway.

That would be a nice option to have after the update ,-)

PS: do you guys have a LONG list of URLs for my FAVORITES LIST in my SPV. like CNN.com, EBAY.com, AMAZON.com, MSNBC.com, YAHOO,com. and so on... ???

Hotmail does not support pop3 AFAIK so updating the SPV won't help.

However, as a sort of hacky half solution, if you have a pop3 account (say with Orange or whoever) you can set your e-mail address to your hotmail one. Then messages sent will look like they came from your hotmail account and people will reply to that. Won't help with receiving mail though...

As for your PS. You can use folders to organise them, or is you point why are they there in the first place? I never had them, just a few Orange and Smartphone sites as the default.

Well, HoTMaiL does allow POP3 access, but only if you're a Modaco Plus memeber. I guess it all depends on how much you use and value your E-Mail access.

[shameless plug]Don't foget to mention me as your referrer if you do join.[/shameless plug]

On a more technical note, I believe MS didn't enable an IMAP client on the smartphone (As thats what HoTMaiL appears to use) is because of the bandwidth requirements. The smartphone really has too little and its too slow for a usable IMAP link. But I could be wrong.
